Workshop on Immersive Technologies in Mobile Applications: Transforming Business Landscapes
(Associated with the Special Issue in Industrial Management & Data Systems)
We are pleased to invite researchers to participate in a dedicated workshop held in conjunction with the 25th Wuhan International Conference on e-Business (WHICEB 2026), Ningbo, China. This workshop aims to foster discussion, collaboration, and high-quality submissions for the Special Issue, “Immersive Technologies in Mobile Applications: Transforming Business Landscapes”, in Industrial Management & Data Systems (https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/calls-for-papers/immersive-technologies-mobile-applications-transforming-business-landscapes).
Workshop Introduction
Immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR), are rapidly reshaping how organizations create value, engage users, and innovate business models. As these technologies increasingly converge with mobile platforms, they are becoming integral to everyday business operations and user experiences. Despite growing interest in this area, deeper scholarly insight is needed into how immersive technologies integrate with mobile applications and transform business landscapes. This workshop provides a platform to advance research in this emerging domain.
The workshop is designed to:
- provide constructive developmental feedback on early-stage and completed research,
- encourage submissions to the Special Issue, and
- facilitate scholarly exchange and collaboration among participants.
The workshop will feature paper presentations and interactive feedback sessions with editors and peers. Selected high-quality papers will be invited to submit to the Special Issue, subject to the journal’s standard peer-review process.
Topics of Interest
We welcome papers on topics including, but not limited to:
- user engagement and behavior in immersive mobile applications,
- adoption and diffusion of immersive technologies in organizations,
- design principles for mobile immersive applications,
- business innovations enabled by immersive technologies across industries, and
- ethical issues, accessibility challenges, and long-term societal impacts of immersive mobile applications.
These topics align with the Special Issue’s goal of advancing interdisciplinary research on immersive mobile technologies and their business impact.
Submission Guidelines
We invite both full papers of completed research and research-in-progress (RIP) papers. Submissions should clearly state research objectives, methodology, and contributions, and should follow standard academic formatting. APA-style references are expected.
Please submit your paper to:

Dr. Shan Wang, Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan, Canada

Online attendance is available; however, priority will be given to in-person participants. When submitting your paper, please indicate whether you plan to attend online or in person.

Workshop on Crossing Methodological Borders: Mixed-/Multi-Methods in Contemporary Industrial and Information Systems Management
(Associated with the Special Issue in Industrial Management & Data Systems)
We are pleased to invite researchers to participate in a dedicated workshop held in conjunction with the 25th Wuhan International Conference on e-Business (WHICEB 2026), Ningbo, China. This workshop aims to foster discussion, collaboration, and high-quality submissions for the Special Issue, “Crossing Methodological Borders: Mixed-/Multi-Methods in Contemporary Industrial and Information Systems Management”, in Industrial Management & Data Systems
Workshop Introduction
Mixed-methods purposefully integrate qualitative and quantitative data to provide both explanatory breadth and contextual depth—enabling researchers to explore “how” and “why” phenomena unfold. Multi-methods, which combine multiple techniques within the same paradigm, can improve robustness, triangulation, and construct validity. Both approaches are particularly valuable for studying evolving topics such as AI deployment, digital trust, platform governance, and organizational resilience.
- Mixed-/Multi-Method Designs in Digital Transformation and Process Innovation
- Integrated Analytical Approaches to Supply Chain Innovation and Resilience
- Human–AI Collaboration and Decision-Making.
- Social Media, Digital Marketing, and E-Commerce Ecosystem
- Sustainability and Green IS through Methodological Pluralism
- Contextualized Adoption of Generative AI Technologies
- Ethical, Educational, and Security Dimensions of AI.
These topics align with the Special Issue’s goal of advancing mixed- and multi-method approaches to address complex issues in Information Systems and related management domains—such as marketing, MIS, operations, strategy, innovation, and organizational behavior.
Submission Guidelines
We invite both full papers of completed research and research-in-progress (RIP) papers. Submissions should clearly state research objectives, methodology, and contributions, and should follow standard academic formatting. APA-style references are expected.
